The creative sources and principles behind Legends of Kemet.
Creative direction
Eternal Pairs: Legends of Kemet was designed as a respectful fantasy memory game shaped by ancient Egyptian deities, symbols, royal imagery, funerary traditions, and stories of renewal.
It is entertainment, not a substitute for historical or archaeological scholarship. Ancient Egyptian religion changed across regions and more than three millennia; myths and modern interpretations can differ.
Game and narrative
Game concept, systems, progression, interface, encounter design, narrative adaptation, and production integration: Eternal Pairs project.
Artwork
Core card, environment, interface, and effect artwork was generated by the Eternal Pairs project creator using Midjourney, then selected and prepared for the game.
Ra, Isis, and Osiris production cards were created with OpenAI image-generation tools under project direction, then prepared for the established card system.
Audio
“Desert Mystic” source music by PolygonDan, offered under Creative Commons CC0 1.0 through OpenGameArt.
Interface and impact source sounds by Kenney, offered under Creative Commons CC0 1.0. Eternal Pairs created the shipped mixes through custom selection, layering, filtering, timing, and mastering.
CC0 does not require attribution; these credits are included in appreciation of the source creators.
Historical language
Player-facing reference copy was reviewed against museum and educational material. Where scholarship is disputed—such as Nefertiti’s later political role or the precise celestial meaning of pyramid architecture—the game uses qualified wording.
Respectful play
The game uses “Kemet,” an ancient name associated with Egypt, as part of its fictional title. Hieroglyphic signs function as visual motifs and interface symbols; they are not presented as literal translations of adjacent English text.
